With supply shortages on the horizon, water conservation and water efficiency are more vital than ever to continue preserving such a precious resource. This class will cover the basics on how to build and operate a single family home, laundry-to-landscape (L2L) graywater system from your clothes washer to irrigate your outdoor landscaping. This course is intended for residents of single family homes interested in designing and installing and installing a L2L system.

Learn how to design and build residential and commercial graywater systems compliant to Denver and Colorado regulations.

Three day, in-person course Rocky Mountain Education Center

October 23-25, 2024. Red Rocks Community College

9 am – 4 pm Lakewood Campus

The course is designed for people with basic plumbing, landscaping, or irrigation skills. You will learn about the concepts required to install graywater systems in the Denver area.

Where Denver area water comes from sustainable landscape practicesPlants and products for graywaterDistribution field sizingCollection PlumbingDistribution to LandscapeColorado and Denver graywater regulations and permitting future of graywater – indoor reuse systemsThis course will include a visit a local, operational graywater system and introduce you to several of the commercially available graywater packaged systems. There will be an optional exam and installation for people wishing to be certified and listed as Qualified Water Efficient Landscaper.
